About Escape This
Escape This is an undisputed market leader in immersive  entertainment. We are a vertically integrated company that designs, manufactures, and operates the nation’s most popular and critically acclaimed escape room experiences. With over 400,000 guests to date and 8,000+ five-star reviews, we have built a fanatically loyal customer base.

We are at a pivotal moment. Backed by a successful capital raise, we are executing an aggressive national expansion to grow from 30 to 150 rooms by 2028. Our mission is to scale our “movie-grade,” high-immersion worlds to every major Australian city and then continue internationally.

The Opportunity: Lead Our Production & Supply Chain

Our key competitive advantage is our 1,300m² in-house production facility (the “Backstage”). Our 1,300m² in-house production facility (the “Backstage”) currently operates as an artisan’s studio for prototyping new concepts. To win the next phase of growth, we must build a separate, scalable production line alongside it to manufacture our proven, existing room designs.

We are looking for a world-class Operations Director – Production & Supply Chain to lead this transformation. This is a new, executive-level role for a hands-on leader who can build the manufacturing engine to fuel our ambitious global expansion.

Key Responsibilities
As the single point of ownership for our entire production pipeline, you will:

  • Production Strategy: Build and manage a ‘production line’ workflow (e.g., cell-based manufacturing) for our proven room designs, operating in parallel with our ‘studio’ function which continues to focus on R&D and prototyping.
  • Process & Standardisation: Lead the “productisation” of our escape rooms by developing and implementing standardised Bills of Materials (BOMs), modular component designs, and documented build playbooks.
  • Supply Chain Management: Build and manage a robust global supply chain, moving from per-room purchasing to strategic, in-bulk procurement to reduce costs and lead times.
  • Global Sourcing & Outsourcing: Take full ownership of our new international manufacturing partnership. You will manage this relationship, establish a “buy vs. build” matrix, and integrate outsourced components seamlessly into our production schedule.
  • Quality Control: Act as the ultimate guardian of our “best-in-class” physical product. You will develop and enforce rigorous QA processes for all components, whether built in-house or externally sourced, ensuring they meet our “Total Immersion” standard.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and scale our high-performing production teams, including the Backstage Lead (physical build) and Technical Lead (electronics and automation), fostering a culture of efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Forecasting & Planning: Work directly with the CEO and CXO to build production forecasts that align with our ambitious expansion roadmap, ensuring the factory is always one step ahead of our venue launch schedule.

What We’re Looking For (The Essentials)

  • Proven Manufacturing Leadership: 5+ years of senior experience in a production, manufacturing, or complex assembly environment. You must have a track record of scaling a physical production operation.
  • Supply Chain & Sourcing Expertise: Demonstrable experience in managing a complex global supply chain, including global sourcing, logistics, and outsourcing/contract manufacturing.
  • Process Obsessed: You are a systems-thinker who lives for process mapping, optimization, and building lean, repeatable workflows.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven: You use data to manage inventory, forecast demand, and make critical “buy vs. build” decisions.
  • Hands-On Leader: You are as comfortable on the factory floor as you are in a spreadsheet. You lead from the front and are passionate about mentoring your teams.
  • Quality & Brand Focus: You understand that we are not just building widgets; we are building “gateways to imaginary worlds.” You know how to maintain premium quality and “the magic” while scaling.

What This Role is NOT (Our Filter)

We are looking for a very specific skill set. This role is
not for you if:

  • Your background is purely in digital, hospitality, or retail operations. You must have experience managing the production of a physical product.
  • You are a “big corporate” manager. We are an agile, fast-moving company. We need a hands-on builder, not a bureaucrat.
  • You are a “visionary” who wants to design the rooms. We need an executor who can flawlessly build and scale the vision.
  • This is not a remote or hybrid role. We are looking for a hands-on leader who is present, leading our teams in person at our Perth facility.

What We Offer

  • A highly competitive executive salary package, including performance incentives.
  • The opportunity to make a defining impact as a key leader in Australia’s fastest-growing entertainment company.
  • A creative, ambitious, and passionate company culture.
  • A central role in building the future of immersive entertainment.
